This asset was created for Doom Patrol as part of a stylized yet grounded mechanical insect featured in a close-up shot. I was responsible for the entire asset pipeline — from modeling and sculpting through texture work and look development.

The mechanical bug was modeled in Maya with high-resolution sculpting in ZBrush. I hand-painted the textures in Substance Painter, creating worn metals, subtle dirt buildup, and specular breakup for realism. Final lookdev and shader work were done in Houdini, using custom metal and glass materials tuned for the show's lighting pipeline.

Technical Process:
☼ Modeled base geometry in Maya, with additional surface detail sculpted in ZBrush
☼ Textured in Substance Painter using custom smart materials and layered masks
☼ Built procedural shaders and reflections in Houdini for final lookdev and render
☼ Optimized topology and UVs for animation-ready use
