B-Side Affects: Extended Release (XR)
B-Side Affects: Extended Release (XR)

A satirical AI-music experiment where pharmaceutical disclaimers meet chill lofi hip-hop.

I screen-recorded real medication commercials, transcribed them through SummaryAI, ran the text through ChatGPT for lyrical formatting and genre adaptation, and used Suno to generate full songs—26 in total. The biggest challenge was getting the AI to pronounce “eczema” and “myasthenia gravis” correctly.

For visuals, I reimagined the classic lofi hip-hop girl as a newly-minted doctor—because all that studying finally paid off. Each looping animation was built from AI-generated frames, composited and color-treated in After Effects for a seamless infinite loop.

To round it out, I created a series of pop-art-style pill morphs using KlingAI for frame-to-frame transformations and additional motion design polish.

The result is absurdly sincere lofi, equal parts critique and comedy: a soothing reminder that even artificial feelings can have side effects.
